an icebreaker

Stole the line of questioning from another blog...

1. What did you do in 2006 that you have never done before?
Supported a very close friend through a devastating separation. Something I hope I never have to do again.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for this year?
lose weight - damn straight. 16 kilos to go! Bring the biggest Loser on!

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thankfully.

5. What countries did you visit?
Australia.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A degree.

7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Not really any dates are that etched in. December 17th 2005 was the day I birthed Noah.. does that count?



8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Managing to breastfeed for the entire year. :)

9. What was your biggest failure?
Letting my boys down - in regards to parenting.


10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Um apart from garden variety anxiety - not much.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
a gym membership

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
James'. Everything he does merits celebrations. He is the most wonderful man in the world.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
John Howards. George W Bush. Most leaders anyway. Locally - Matt.

14. Where did most of your money go?
children.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I'm such a sook. Really anything to do with my family. They make me happy. But then I was pretty damn excited about my '80's party. Oh and a weekend away to Ocean Grove with a bunch of my gorgeous friends from across Australia.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Rachel and Matt splitting up. :( - chasing cars - snow patrol. Pink - who knew.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? 
b) thinner or fatter?

a) happier b)much thinner! c)richer possibly.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
enjoyed the relaxing moments.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Homework.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With the Geraghty's and my parents.

21. What was your favorite TV program?
Lost followed closely by OZ.

22. What was the best book you read?
Hmm so many of them. I can't choose.

23. What was your greatest musical discovery?
My iPod. How did I ever live without it?

24. What did you want and get?
an I-Pod shuffle.

25. What did you want and not get?
a packet of tim-tams that don't make me put weight on.

26. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 30. We had a bogan '80's party. Was fab. On my actual birthday we went down to Williamstown with both of my children, my parents and James and had fish and chips. It was lovely, relaxed and just how I wanted it. We then came home for ice cream cake.

27. What kept you sane?
The most gorgeous bunch of girls in Yarraville.

28. What political issue stirred you the most?
Abortion, Indigenous issues - god what didn't? I get riled up quite easily.

29. Who was the best new person you met?
Hmm best new person - would have to be Rachel. Love her to bits. Apart from that - all my other girlfriends; Bec, Tracey, Deb, Karen, Larissa.
